Stoke City legend Lou Macari is urging fans not to look too much into their current league position.
The Potters have endured a difficult start to their campaign and following the 1-0 loss against West Bromwich Albion over the weekend, are currently languishing in 18th position in the Premier League table, with only 2 points on the board.
Despite the poor start though, Macari does not feel alarm bells should be ringing anytime soon and added that fans should not be too worried as well.
Writing in his column for the Stoke Sentinel, Macari stated: “Stoke’s defeat on Saturday leaves them in the bottom three, which never looks nice, but let’s not forget it’s only four games gone and nothing is won or lost by the end of August. And you only have to look just above Stoke, just two points in fact, to see Chelsea sitting uncomfortably close to the bottom.
“You can’t tell me that Chelsea won’t end up somewhere in the top four once again, so let’s not get too carried away by league positions at the moment. Indeed, if Stoke had won on Saturday, and that’s a fair guess if there hadn’t been the red cards, they’d now be on five points and in the top half of the table.”
